Thursday 13 July - 12.15pm
We’ll be ready and waiting to welcome you to our offices at 20 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London, SW1V 2SA. The nearest train station is Victoria, and Pimlico tube station on the Victoria line is just a few minutes’ walk away.
We’re keen to show you what we do and where we do it, so we’ll start off with some introductions and give you a bit of time to start getting to know one another over lunch.
We’ll be spending an informal day together, with the aim being that you’ll get the chance to spend time with us and the publicity teams from our eight publishing houses. This way, you can start to get a flavour for the different books and teams on offer.
We’ll take a tour of our three publishing houses based at Vauxhall Bridge Road:Vintage
And you’ll also get to meet with our Transworld team who are decamping from Ealing and pitching up at Vauxhall Bridge Road for the afternoon.
We’ll also stop by and say hello to our Digital team who will also share what they’re working on.
We’ll then make our way to 80 Strand, London, WC2R 0RL, so we can introduce you to our four other publishing houses:Michael Joseph
After our Strand tour, we’ll take you to your hotel, Doubletree by Hilton Hotels in Westminster where we’ve reserved you a room for the night.
You’ll have a chance to check in and relax before we head out for drinks and food around 5.30pm. Here’s where we’ll be eating:The Rose Pub, 35 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TL
We’ll then get you back to your hotel for a (relatively) early night ahead of day two.
Friday 14th July
We’ll be collecting you from your hotel at 8.15am so best make sure you’ve had breakfast and are checked out and are ready to go.
We’ll be at our Vauxhall Bridge Road offices all day, but we promise to finish by 4pm so you can start your travels home.
The second day will be a little different as we focus on the qualities that we’re looking for from our future publicists (if you’d like a refresher, you can find these here).
We’ve designed individual and group exercises to help us get to know you better and we’ll be sure to have some fun along the way too.
Please don’t spend lots of time preparing for our time together, you’ve already worked very hard to get to this stage and we’re keen that you arrive fresh and ready for our adventure. Remember, we’ve already seen something special in you, so just come and be ready to be yourself.
And, of course, if you’ve got any questions, just ask.
