The Scheme 2018

The Scheme 18 is about introducing new and under-represented voices to publishing. This year, to apply, you'll need to be from either, or both, of the following groups:

  1. You’re from a BAME (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) community
  2. You’re from a socio-economically disadvantaged background


Please share below whether you identify as either, or both, of the following:

  • I am from one of the following backgrounds:

    • - Asian/Asian British

    • - Black/African/Caribbean/Black British

    • - Mixed/Multiple ethnic groups

    • - Other minority ethnic group
  • At age 14, my highest earning parent was not self-employed and not in senior management and was employed in one of the following categories:

    • Technical and craft occupations
      Such as: motor mechanic - fitter – inspector – plumber – printer– tool maker – electrician – gardener – train driver

    • Semi-routine manual and service occupations
      Such as: postal worker – machine operative – security guard – caretaker - farm worker – catering assistant – receptionist – sales assistant

    • Routine manual and service occupations
      Such as: HGV driver – van driver – cleaner – porter – packer – sewing machinist – messenger – labourer – waiter/waitress – bar staff

    • Or unemployed.
